3 years ago this month, Synthosaurus took to the stage for the very first time at the High Performance Rodeo Midway in Calgary. Since that first show, so much has happened, and I wanted to do a little something special to thank the wonderful group of fans, friends and supporters who continually inspire to push forward and make the happiest music possible.
With that it gives great pleasure to present *THE MYSTICAL TREASURE CHEST OF INTERGALACTIC BLISSPOP*, a FREE 33-song compilation of Synthosaurus songs past to present. The download link can be found on the homepage of BeautifulUnicorn.com as well.
Though it might sound kind of silly, making this kind of music has become (for me anyway) a way of coping with a world that can often be very cruel, scary, depressing, confusing, and generally overwhelming. When life becomes a little too much to deal with, it helps to be able to escape into an alternate universe of ultra-happy 80s sounds. And it means a lot to think that maybe this music does something similar for other people too.
Wherever you are I hope the sounds of these synths will take you away to happier times. Dance hard, love everybody, forgive the people that hurt you. Forgive yourself as well. Turn bitterness into bodaciousness and hatred into hugs and high fives. Do your best, play as hard as you work, and keep it real. That's how the dinosaurs did it, I think.
